LivedThrough exists because the most useful person to talk to is often someone who has been exactly where you are. If that's you for someone, here's how to come on board.

Who we approve

People who have come through the thing they want to help with — meaningfully, with enough distance to be steady. We're looking for honesty about the journey and clear boundaries about what you can and can't hold for someone else.

The five steps

    Orientation

    Five questions on scope, crisis handling, and the on-platform rules. Pass mark is 4/5.

  2. 02

    Profile + tags

    Pick what you've personally walked through, write your story, set your rate and your limits.

  3. 03

    ID verification

    Government-issued photo ID, seen only by moderators. Never displayed publicly.

  4. 04

    Human review

    We read every application. Usually 1–3 business days. Approval or specific feedback.

  5. 05

    Listed + bookable

    Set weekly availability, accept session requests, get paid out weekly.

What we expect

  • Stay inside peer-support scope. We're not therapists, coaches, or clinicians.
  • Use the crisis playbook when the conversation tips: pause, surface 988 / local lines, end the session safely.
  • Honor your stated limits. If a tag drifts outside what you're stable enough to hold right now, take it off your profile.
  • Treat every seeker's story as confidential. What's said in session stays in session.

How you get paid

You set your rate per session ($20–$120). We take a flat 15% platform fee and pay out the rest weekly via Stripe Connect. You see your balance and history on the provider dashboard.
